Safeguarding

Safeguarding at The Green

Staff and governors take seriously their responsibility to promote the safeguarding and welfare of all children entrusted to our care.

If you are worried about a child please come and speak to Miss Smith (Designated Safeguarding Lead), Miss O'Brien or Mrs James  (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads), you can call us on 01773 811465 or email safeguarding@green.derbyshire.sch.uk

The Green Flying High Academy fully recognises its responsibilities for Child Protection and Safeguarding.

Safeguarding arrangements are underpinned by three key principles:

  • Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility: all Staff, Governors and Volunteers should play their full part in keeping children safe.
  • The Green operates a child-centred approach: a clear understanding of the needs, wishes, views and voices of children.
  • All Staff, Governors and Volunteers have a clear understanding regarding abuse and neglect in all forms; including how to identify, respond and report. This also includes knowledge in the process for allegations against professionals. Staff, Governors and Volunteers should feel confident that they can report all matters of safeguarding children in the School where the information will be dealt with swiftly and securely, following the correct procedures with the safety and wellbeing of the children in mind at all times.
Child Protection and Pupil Welfare

Our child protection programme supports each child's development in ways which foster security and confidence and independence. The school has a duty of care and the right to take reasonable action to ensure the welfare and safety of it's pupils. If a member of staff has cause to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or any other form of abuse, the school will follow child protection procedures and inform social services of its concern.

If you are concerned about the safety of a child or a vulnerable adult, please contact Call Derbyshire on  01629 533190.
