The Green Infant School

Together We Grow

Welcome

Christmas Fair 2018

Christmas Fair 2018.

Wow!  What an amazing fair we all had.  Lots of stalls from all over Derbyshire flocked to The Green Infant School:

  • Candyfloss and doughnuts outside,
  • Mulled wine, hot dogs and mince pies inside
  • Games for all the family from splat the rat, chocolate lob to guess the weight of the cake.
  • Jolly Jars
  • Lots of external stalls - Scouts, Avon, Beautiful Beads, Jewellery, Books, Lucky dips, sweet cones, tombolas and so much more.
  • Raffles of 6 amazing hampers, 32" TV and a collection of chocolates.
  • Children singing their (voted) favourite Band aid song.
  • And the ultimate guest - SANTA.  The Snug was transformed into a magical grotto where Santa had managed to spare a few hours from his busy schedule of monitoring the elves to come along to see the children.

We all had an amazing time and PTA raised an amazing £762!  This will go towards furnishing The Snug where children receive vital positive play and nurture support.

PTA would like to thank:

  • All the parents for donating jolly jars and some fabulous gifts for the hampers,
  • Staff and Governors for donating gifts for the hampers.
  • Co-op for donating all the mince pies
  • Sainsbury's for donating all the cobs for the hot dogs
  • Mr Davis for lending us his flasks
  • Staff and children for running stalls
  • PTA members that gave up their time to wrap, decorate, bake, organise and tidy after.
  • Mrs Chesterman and Mrs Renshaw for all their hard work making sure the school was spotless before and after the fair.

We have an amazing PTA and they are working tirelessly to enrich the experiences for the children at The Green.  If you would like to join the PTA please see Leanne Byard or Donna Evans on the playground.
