Catering - school meals - feeding young minds
Derbyshire have put a great deal of time, effort and money into creating healthy menus and promoting the healthy choices for pupils. They want to provide parents with all the information they need about school dinners and that is why they have developed their website. Please click on the links below.
We offer one choice of hot main meal or vegetarian option per day. The menu is on a 3 week cycle and changes every 6 months. Children are offered a standard portion of a main meal with vegetables, salad, bread, fresh fruit and drinking water freely available.
All medical diets are catered for, the Menu development Officer creates specialist menus to ensure each child has a meal that meets their requirements. To apply for a medical diet you must have a referral from a medical professional and complete a "medical diet form" which can be obtained from Mrs Hill in the school office.
The menus meet the current Government nutritional standards.
The recommended meal price for a Primary school child is £2.00 this is excellent value for money! (Price correct from September 2017).
Please note that sometimes the cooks have to make menu changes at short notice (for instance if there is a problem with food deliveries) but they aim to keep this to a minimum.
