We will learn all about plants in Science and in Art & Design we will be looking at artists who specialise in drawing and painting flowers.
Spring Term 1 2019 - Towers, Tunnels and Turrets:
The children in Oak class started theis topic off with a visit to Warwick Castle (see the photographs in the 'Gallery' section of the website. They have written a recount of this trip and created dragon and fantasy stories. The children experimented to see who could make the tallest tower out of Knex and Lego. They enjoyed making castles out of junk modelling materials!
Autumn term 2 Topic
Our Topic this half term is Muck, Mess and Mixtures.
Let's get messy! Muck and mess is good! In fact it's mega-marvellous!
Dive in and get your hands and feet covered in paint. Play with liquids, squish some dough and check out the slushiest and muckiest food.
Pour, mix, stir, splat! How does it feel to get your hands covered in goo? Make a wobbly jelly and draw with wibbly clay.
Write recipes, instructions, riddles and poems - there are loads of words to describe scrummy mixtures.
Work with paint and other squelchy stuff to create a new gallery space. What will you make? How will you arrange it? How will the gallery make you and your visitors feel?
Don't worry about the mess .... It'll always wash.
